Darkstar pranced proudly through Mountainclan territory, head held high, ears pricked and alert. She parted her jaws slightly to drink in the cold air and made sure that no Doomclan intruders could be scented on her territory. She had protected these mountains since she was an apprentice from mountain cats and even wolves. No Clan was going to rob her of territory now. Especially not Doomclan.

A light breeze swept through the fragile branches of a bush near MountainClan territory; the sun was steadily making it's way down from the sky. It was a little past noon.
A pair of mismatched blue eyes peered out from the swaying branches; a smile plastered on its lips. "Today's a perfect day for battle," she turned and called back to her comrades. "The sky is clear, the sun is out, and the breeze is light." She turned again and smiled to herself. "They'll never see us coming."

Darkstar felt a cool breeze whisper through her fur as she padded carefully through the snow. She scented the air again despite the effort being pointless. She was upwind, she knew. And intruders would smell her first. Her amber depths warily scanned the icy terrain. Nothing stirred, excluding the wind that cut through her thick pelt and stung her skin. With an irritated flick of her tail, she retreated backward, ears angled back to listen to anything that might consider intruding on Mountainclan territory.[/color]

The femme looked over her cats again before turning around. She did not see anyone... "All right," she called back. "We're going to move in to a closer position." She turned back around; everyone could see the shimmer in her eye she always got before a battle. "No cat goes in front of me. If you fall behind, stay there until a cat is sent back to you. We can not risk being seen." She padded a few steps to the edge of the bush, and peered up again. She scented the breeze, but could only detect the very lightest hint of the other Clan. "On my mark..." she whispered. Her eyes traced the path she would take.
"NOW!" she quickly raced out from behind the bush to another patch nearby. Her Clan followed. When they were all to the next bush she glanced out again, flicked her tail, and rushed out behind a patch of ferns.
